The Right Employee Assistance Program (EAP) can make a positive difference.
Traditional EAPs are no longer sufficient to address the barrage of challenges affecting our mental health. It’s time for the EAP industry to evolve, and for employers to expect more from EAP providers to help support and improve their employees’ mental wellness.
How is the FamilySparks
Social Impact EAP Different?
We have no caps on the number of counselling sessions per client.
Instead of a limited number of sessions, we create a care plan with our counsellors to help each client have the best chance at overcoming their challenges.
Our definition of “family” has evolved to match current family dynamics.
Employees may have aging parents, a common-law partner, grown children or even a roommate who is struggling with their mental wellness and needs support.
Every counselor on our team works from our resilience-based clinical philosopy.
Created by our Founder, psychologist Dr. Jillian Roberts, our clinical philosophy ensures clients receive consistently excellent and inclusive care.
We boost utilization wherever possible.
We consistently educate our clients and their families about how our program can help support them, which encourages – and increases – their usage.
We report on the quality of the user experience.
We provide quarterly reports that include information on not only the quantity of program utilization, but also the quality of the experience their team is getting.
It’s easy for your team to get the care they need.
It can take a lot of courage for some employees and/or family members to reach out for help. When they do, we make the path to care simple.

How is such a progressive program possible?
Our clients make more progress in their treatment in less time because they are matched with an excellent therapist suited to their needs. Many traditional EAPs simply focus on the number of sessions – we focus on the quality of each session.
We don’t have employees using sessions needlessly because of the “use it or lose it” mindset that occurs when a limited number of sessions are available each calendar year. Our service is always there for them, so they only reach out when they truly need it.
We are a social impact company. Our success is based on the impact of our work, not just our revenues, so our gross margins can be smaller than publicly-owned companies. This is what happens when a company, its team, counselors and investors have a shared vision to push back against the mental health crisis, disrupt the mental health space and meaningfully change lives for the better.
